We offer Australian researchers opportunities to work on large-scale problems

The driver for what we’re doing? It’s planning for the future.”

Paul Mulvaney

The challenge of converting the world’s energy supply to sustainable energy is a long term (half-century!) challenge.

In Exciton Science, we work closely with industry to understand technical and economic challenges and to focus our research in ways which provide innovative and useful solutions.

Exciton Science has demonstrated that semi-transparent perovskite solar cells could replace conventional glass in windows, raising the prospect of a radical transformation in the energy efficiency of the built environment.

Flexible Solar cells

If you could get solar cells that were as efficient as silicon but were completely flexible, what would you do with them? You could have fields of portable power stations. Then you wouldn’t need to fix large energy assets in one place. You might be able to simply roll them back up and redeploy them elsewhere. It changes the value proposition.”
